We are signposted as “Crematorium” in Crathes. Please follow these signs and you will find us approximately 150 metres up this road on the left hand side.
If you are using satellite navigation, please note that some systems may take you to Baldarroch Farm, which is approximately 100 metres further up the road. Look for the Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium signs at the entrance.
Travelling by car
Most visitors travel to Baldarroch via the A93, North Deeside Road, from either Aberdeen or Banchory, or via the B9077, South Deeside Road.
From Aberdeen on the A93
Travel along the A93 from Aberdeen towards Banchory. After Drumoak, continue into Crathes. Once you pass the Crathes sign, take the first turning on the right, signposted for the Crematorium and Crathes School. The road is between a brown wooden building and a bus stop. Baldarroch is approximately 150 metres along this road on the left.
From Banchory on the A93
Travel along the A93 through Banchory and pass the entrance for Crathes Castle on the left. As you enter Crathes, take the first turning on the left, signposted for the Crematorium and Crathes School. Baldarroch is approximately 150 metres along this road on the left.
From the B9077 / South Deeside Road
Travel along the B9077 from the Bridge of Dee in Aberdeen. At the T-junction, turn right onto the A957 towards Crathes and cross the River Dee. At the next T-junction, turn left onto the A93, then turn immediately right onto the road signposted for the Crematorium and Crathes School. Baldarroch is approximately 150 metres along this road on the left.
By bus
Several bus routes travel along the A93, North Deeside Road, close to Baldarroch Crematorium.
The main services are the Aberdeen to Braemar routes 201, 202 and 203, and the Stonehaven to Banchory route 105.
Please alight at the Station Wood Bus Stop, Crathes. From there, follow the illuminated footpath through the woods for approximately 150 metres. On leaving the woods, you will be at the front gate of Baldarroch.
By train
The nearest railway stations with onward travel options are Aberdeen, Stonehaven and Inverurie.
From Aberdeen Railway Station, walk through Union Square to Aberdeen Bus Station and use route 201, 202 or 203 towards Braemar.
From Stonehaven Railway Station, the Station Hotel bus stop connects with route 105 towards Banchory.
If travelling via Inverurie, there is no direct public transport route to Baldarroch, so continuing to Aberdeen and travelling onwards from Union Square is usually the simplest option.
From the airport
Aberdeen International Airport is approximately 16.8 miles from Baldarroch Crematorium.
There is no direct public transport route from the airport to Baldarroch. Visitors can travel into Aberdeen city centre and connect with onward bus services from Union Square, or travel by taxi or hire car.
By car or taxi, the journey is usually around 35 minutes, depending on traffic and route.
Parking and accessibility
There is car parking for 55 cars, including 5 disabled parking spaces. Additional overflow parking is available for approximately 150 vehicles when required.
Please do not park on the grass verges directly outside the crematorium grounds. Four bicycle stands are located next to the disabled parking bays.
Baldarroch has wheelchair-friendly same-level access throughout the building, disabled toilets, a hearing induction loop and a spare wheelchair available within the crematorium.
