Personal, Unhurried and Caring
At Baldarroch Crematorium, our aim is to make what will always be a difficult time feel as calm, supported and stress free as possible.
Most families arrange the service through a funeral director, while others may be supported by a celebrant, minister, faith leader, family member or friend. Whatever the format, the service can be as personal, traditional or unique as you wish.
Our team stays in close contact with those supporting you at every point – confirming timings, preparing the ceremony hall, checking music and visual tributes, and making sure everything is ready on the day itself.
A quiet space with space to gather
Baldarroch has a warm, welcoming ceremony hall designed to feel light, calm and dignified. The space can be arranged for services of any religion, belief or personal preference, with fresh flowers helping to create a gentle and respectful setting.
The building is designed so families and guests can gather, settle and leave without feeling rushed. A uniformed chapel attendant is available at each service, quietly helping with practical details and supporting funeral directors, celebrants and families as needed.
Time between every service
We allow 1 hour and 30 minutes between each service. This normally provides around half an hour within the ceremony hall, with time either side for people to arrive, take their seats, greet others and leave unhurried afterwards.
This spacing helps ensure every family has enough time to hold a personal and dignified service, without feeling part of a conveyor belt. Extended services can also be arranged for an additional fee where more time is needed.
Technology and personal touches
You can personalise the service in many ways – through music, readings, prayers, visual tributes, photographs, lighting, flowers and personal memories.
The ceremony hall includes modern media facilities to support music, recorded eulogies, photographic presentations and live or recorded viewing for those unable to attend in person. The lighting within the ceremony hall can also be adjusted to create a softer, more personal atmosphere, helping families choose a setting that feels appropriate for the service.
There is also a hearing loop to assist guests with hearing difficulties, and an organ is available for families who would like hymns or reflective music. Every service is checked carefully in advance, so the details feel right and the day can unfold as smoothly as possible.
Before and after the service
You are very welcome to visit Baldarroch before a service, whether you would like to see the ceremony hall, understand the layout, ask about access, or simply feel more prepared.
The ceremony hall and offices are open to visitors, although we recommend calling ahead on 01330 844 042 to make sure the space is free for you to look around.
After the funeral, floral tributes are placed in the tribute area next to the handshaking area on the right hand side of the building, where they remain on display outside for a minimum of seven days.
